About Us

The Dallas Jewish Committee on Scouting (DJCoS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to promoting participation in Scouting within the Jewish community and promoting the Jewish experience within scoutin units (packs, troops, crews, etc).

The DJCoS is made up of volunteers from mulitple scouting organizations in the Dallas Area including the Girl Scouts of North East Texas the Circle Ten Council of Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America). We are also affiliated with the National Jewish Committee on Scouting.

Our work in the community includes but is not limited to:

• Building and supporting new and existing scouting units withiin the Jewish community
• Supporting the needs of Jewish scouts in non-Jewish scouting units
• Helping Jewish scouts earn appropriate religious scouting awards
• Connecting scouts to service opportunities within the Jewish community
• Celebrating and recognizing the accomplishments of Jewish scouts
• Promoting a Community-wide Scout Shabbat celebration in February each year
• Advocating for the needs of Jewish scouts at the District, Council or Service Unit level when necessary
• Honoring the contributions of Jewish War Veterans through Memorial and Veterans Day US Flag placement projects
